Historically, this maritime London village was where the first of London's great trading docks was built, establishing connections to Canada, the Baltic and Scandinavia. After the docks were closed, the wharves of Rotherhithe were some of the first in London to undergo regeneration changing derelict warehouse buildings into residential flats and loft-style apartments.
